SAP GUI for Java 7.30 was released earlier today. In order to download and install it, follow this link. Details on system requirements can be found on SAP Note 1761605.

This version of SAP GUI is available for the following operating systems:

  • OS X (37.895 kB) – OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
  • Linux (37.420 kB) – openSUSE 12.2, Fedora 17, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Ubuntu 12.04
  • Windows (46.316 kB) – Windows 8

The release notes for SAP GUI for Java 7.30 can be found here. Among several features, it adds support for a number of new platforms and offers a redesigned and more modern UI (Corbu Theme).

In case you already have a previous version installed, after the installation, the application will import all connection data automatically. You can then, optionally, uninstall the previous version.

Note: If you need to backup the SAPLogon.ini file that contains SAP connections, it can generally be found on the following directories (depending on the operating system):
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\SAP\Common
Windows Vista: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\ or \\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows (if UAC is activated)
Windows 7: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common
You also have the option to see the directory through SAP GUI → SAP GUI options → Configuration Files.
